Supply chain data company Makersite has announced the successful raising of €60 million in a series B financing round. The funds are intended to enhance its platform, which assists manufacturers in developing greener, safer, and more affordable products. Based in Stuttgart, Germany, Makersite was founded in 2018 and provides Product Lifecycle Intelligence solutions. These solutions enable manufacturers to gain a comprehensive understanding of their supply chains, facilitating informed and sustainable decisions during the product design process. The company’s AI-powered software creates a digital twin of manufactured products, allowing users to assess impacts, identify optimal mitigation strategies, and explore new sourcing opportunities to develop compliant, safer, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly products.
The new financing comes amid growing demand from companies seeking to address supply chain emissions, manage costs, and comply with new regulatory standards while enhancing supply chain resilience. Makersite’s solutions have notably assisted Microsoft in reducing the carbon footprint of its Surface Pro 10 laptop by up to 28%. Additionally, Schneider Electric plans to utilise the platform to scale Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) and eco-design across a portfolio of more than 200,000 SKUs.

The financing round was led by Lightrock and Partech, with participation from Schneider Electric’s venture capital fund SE Ventures, as well as existing investors Hitachi Ventures, KOMPAS VC, Translink Capital, and Planet A.
