TotalEnergies and Colas team up to decarbonise

TotalEnergies and Colas renew partnership to decarbonise construction. The collaboration focuses on multi-energy solutions, electric charging infrastructure, and solar power facilities to reduce carbon emissions in the construction sector, supporting TotalEnergies’ and Colas’s decarbonisation goals by 2030….

TotalEnergies and French civil engineering firm Colas have announced the renewal of their three-year partnership, aiming to advance the decarbonisation of the construction sector both in France and internationally. The collaboration involves developing solutions across three primary areas: expanding the use of multi-energy solutions on construction sites, such as renewable biofuels and battery systems to replace conventional generators; installing charging infrastructure for electric trucks, machinery, and construction equipment; and developing solar power facilities on Colas-owned land to enhance renewable energy production and site self-sufficiency.

Bernard Pinatel, President of Marketing and Services at TotalEnergies, expressed enthusiasm for continuing the partnership, highlighting the company’s commitment to providing innovative low-carbon solutions to support clients in reducing their carbon footprint. This initiative aligns with TotalEnergies’ broader decarbonisation strategy, which aims for a 25% reduction in the carbon intensity of its products by 2030 compared to 2015 levels.

The partnership also supports Colas’s environmental objectives, which include a 46.5% reduction in direct greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Pierre Vanstoflegatte, CEO of Colas, stated that renewing the partnership with TotalEnergies demonstrates their commitment to accelerating decarbonisation and enhancing Colas’s position as a low-carbon worksite operator.
