Carbon management software provider Green Project Technologies has announced an agreement to acquire the technology platform of Emitwise, a company focused on Scope 3 emissions carbon accounting solutions. This acquisition aims to establish a comprehensive solution for supply chain carbon management.

Founded in 2019, UK-based Emitwise offers tools that enable procurement teams to enhance visibility into the carbon footprint of their supply chains and reduce Scope 3 emissions. Emitwise’s offerings include a procurement-focused Scope 3 decarbonisation platform, which allows users to automatically access supplier data, manage engagement, verify emissions calculations, benchmark suppliers using scorecards, and incorporate carbon factors into negotiation variables. Additionally, the company provides an AI-powered Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) Calculator, facilitating rapid PCF calculations by suppliers.

New York-based Green Project Technologies delivers a web-based platform combining digital solutions for carbon accounting, supplier engagement, and advisory services to assist enterprises in measuring, managing, and reducing emissions across operations and value chains. The company was acquired in 2023 by environmental solutions provider ACT Group.

Sam Stark, Chief Executive Officer of Green Project, stated, “Emitwise and Green Project’s market offerings could not be matched better. Joining Emitwise’s automated, broad supplier offerings with Green Project’s audit-grade accounting, ACT’s global reach, and an existing suite of decarbonisation products undeniably positions us as the solution to beat for supply chains.”

Following the acquisition, Emitwise’s co-founders, Chief Technology Officer Ben Peddie and Chief Product Officer Eduardo Gomez, along with several commercial, customer success, and engineering employees, will join Green Project Technologies.

Jop Gerritsen, Managing Director of ACT Digital, commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome the talented Emitwise team to Green Project and ACT. Their expertise will help drive our next chapter of climate innovation.”
