Sustainability data and analytics solutions provider Worldly has announced the acquisition of GoBlu, an environmental data platform focused on the textile and apparel sector. This strategic move aims to advance the unification of systems used to track social and environmental performance across consumer goods supply chains.
Founded in 2015, GoBlu offers digital sustainability-focused tools, including brand-level, supply chain-level, and communications services for the textile and apparel industry. Its flagship platform, The BHive, enables factories and brands to digitise all steps in the chemical management process, from chemical product entry to analysis, performance management, and reporting. This facilitates chemical inventory management, traceability, and compliance.
California-based Worldly was launched in 2019 to host the Higg Index, a suite of environmental and social sustainability performance tools for the apparel industry. Since then, the company has expanded to provide analytics, reporting, and performance tracking tools across the hard goods, outdoor equipment, home furnishings, and toys sectors.
According to Worldly, the acquisition comes at a time when brands and retailers rely on multiple data platforms to manage different parts of their sustainability and risk programmes. The transaction aims to further the company’s vision of creating a more unified and efficient system for tracking social and environmental performance across consumer goods supply chains.
Scott Raskin, CEO of Worldly, commented:
> “There’s extraordinary innovation happening across the consumer goods industry, but too often in isolation. At Worldly, we see an opportunity — and have a responsibility — to connect these efforts and create a unified and centralised ecosystem that brings transparency and helps brands and manufacturers act faster and more effectively. Acquiring GoBlu and bringing The BHive into our platform is an important step toward that vision.”
Worldly stated that the acquisition will integrate its environmental data infrastructure with GoBlu’s The BHive platform. This integration will allow industry users to connect information on chemical usage with its environmental impact, providing a unified view of compliance and impact at both facility and brand levels. It will streamline data collection to reduce reporting burdens and enhance analytics and AI-driven insights.
Lars Doemer, Founder and Managing Director of GoBlu, said:
> “Joining Worldly enables GoBlu to scale our mission faster and further. Together, we’ll provide the industry with the transparency, usability, and intelligence it needs to make real progress.”
