UL Solutions unveils new sustainability-focused software solutions. The company launched tools to manage supply chain emissions, meet ISSB reporting requirements, and plan renewable energy deployment, enhancing its ULTRUS platform to address complex sustainability and compliance challenges….

Applied safety science company UL Solutions has announced the launch of a series of new sustainability-focused software solutions. These include tools to assist companies in managing supply chain emissions data, meeting International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) sustainability reporting requirements, and planning renewable energy deployment.

The new solutions are part of UL Solutions’ ULTRUS software platform, designed to support companies in managing complex sustainability and compliance challenges. Among the new tools is a Purchased Goods and Services module on the ULTRUS platform, intended to simplify data management and reporting for Scope 3, Category 1 emissions. These emissions relate to goods and services purchased from suppliers. Features of the module include target setting and streamlined reporting processes.

UL Solutions has also introduced enhanced capabilities to its UL 360 ESG and Sustainability software’s ESG Disclosures module. These enhancements aim to facilitate data management for ISSB disclosures, allowing data to be extracted directly from the UL 360 platform into the module to manage ISSB requirements and provide a data source and audit trail for disclosed values.

In addition, the company has integrated a new AI feature, Windnavigator Resource Data and Maps, into the ULTRUS platform’s wind energy-focused Windnavigator software. This feature offers high-quality maps and data to aid developers in identifying suitable wind farm sites and planning initial wind project steps.

Furthermore, UL Solutions has added new features to its retail product compliance tool, WERCSmart, on the ULTRUS platform. These features help retailers identify per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), often referred to as “forever chemicals,” in products and collect product documentation from manufacturers.

John Genovesi, President of Software and Advisory at UL Solutions, commented, “UL Solutions is staying ahead of the evolving needs of our customers with our powerful new ULTRUS software releases. These new capabilities are providing our customers with expertise to help manage evolving regulatory requirements, deliver transparency across complex global supply chains, and take action on sustainability.”
