Purbeck launches new insurance apprenticeship scheme

Purbeck Insurance Services launches new apprenticeship programme. The personal guarantee insurance provider has introduced an 18-month scheme to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week, aiming to recruit up to two apprentices and support long-term careers within the UK insurance sector.

Purbeck Insurance Services, the UK’s only provider of personal guarantee insurance (PGI), has launched a new apprenticeship scheme as part of National Apprenticeship Week, with recruitment currently under way.

The company is in the interview stage of the programme, which will run until mid-March. It expects to appoint up to two apprentices, who will join the business in April.

The 18-month scheme will see successful candidates study for the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner qualification in partnership with training provider BPP. Alongside their formal studies, apprentices will gain practical experience across Purbeck’s operations, building technical knowledge and professional capability within the insurance sector.

Nick Linacre, Claims Manager at Purbeck Insurance Services, said: “The aim of the scheme is to help candidates achieve a recognised qualification as well as a clear pathway into a long-term, fulfilling career within the business and the wider insurance industry.

“Apprenticeships are a vital way of bringing new talent into insurance and give people a genuine opportunity to build a career in this sector. Our new programme is designed to give individuals the opportunity to develop confidence and gain real-world experience, ultimately welcoming them into Purbeck as valued members of the team.

“We’ll be sharing updates as the programme progresses and as our apprentices take the next steps in their professional journey.”

National Apprenticeship Week is an annual initiative celebrating the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, businesses, and the wider economy. It highlights employer-led schemes designed to strengthen workforce capability and address sector skills gaps.

The UK insurance industry has faced sustained pressure to attract new entrants, particularly as experienced professionals approach retirement and regulatory complexity increases. Apprenticeship routes have become an established pathway for organisations seeking to develop talent internally while broadening access to the profession.

Purbeck’s programme reflects its wider commitment to skills development and knowledge sharing, while reinforcing the role of structured vocational training in supporting long-term industry resilience.

The first apprentices are expected to begin the programme in April, with further updates anticipated as the scheme progresses.
