AnyBusiness says online demand is rising for a new wave of lifestyle-led, experience-focused business concepts, with reformer Pilates, cat cafés, dog cafés, vintage shops, and matcha cafés among the standout performers. The marketplace’s review of 10 fast-rising business types, based on five years of Glimpse search data, suggests consumers are increasingly drawn to concepts that combine community, identity, and visual appeal with more conventional retail or hospitality offers.
The biggest search volumes were recorded by reformer Pilates at 2 million monthly searches, followed by cat cafés at 1.2 million and Pilates studios at 905,000. Matcha cafés were one of the fastest risers, up 128% year on year, while dessert cafés, though much smaller in absolute terms, posted the sharpest jump at 1,547%.
Mary Tamvakologos, director of operations at AnyBusiness, said: “Consumers are no longer only looking for convenience. They are looking for businesses that feel like a lifestyle choice, a social experience or something worth talking about.”
The analysis is a demand signal rather than a performance league table, but it points to a broader shift in what buyers and founders now see as commercially attractive. AnyBusiness argued that the strongest concepts tend to pair distinctive branding with repeat customer behaviour, whether through memberships, frequent browsing, premium pricing, or social visibility.
Tamvakologos also cautioned that search demand alone is not enough, and said the stronger opportunities still depend on margins, loyal customers, and operating models that can outlast a passing trend.
