Imagination appoints new UK finance director

Imagination names Harsharan Travers UK finance director with immediate effect. The agency says the former Ogilvy UK finance leader will oversee commercial and financial operations, supporting growth, efficiency, and client delivery across the UK business.

Travers will oversee the agency’s financial and commercial operations in the UK, with a remit spanning business growth, financial strategy, and support for Imagination’s client portfolio. The company said she will work closely with leadership teams to improve operational efficiency, support revenue growth, and maintain financial performance as the agency continues to expand its experience-led work for global brands.

The appointment brings in a senior finance executive with extensive experience in marketing and communications. Travers spent much of her career at Ogilvy UK, part of WPP Group, where she moved through a series of senior finance posts before becoming UK Group Finance Director. During that period, Imagination said she played a central role in financial performance, commercial structures, and business growth across multiple disciplines.

After Ogilvy, Travers joined Avantgarde as Global Commercial Finance Director, extending her background into brand experience and experiential marketing. At Imagination, that mix of agency finance and experience-led sector knowledge is expected to feed directly into the UK business, where finance is being positioned as a strategic partner to client delivery and commercial decision-making.

Mark Chappell, Global Chief Financial Officer at Imagination, said: “Harsharan brings an exceptional depth of financial leadership experience from across the agency landscape. Her understanding of complex creative businesses and her strong commercial mindset make her a fantastic addition to our UK leadership team. As Imagination continues to grow and evolve, her expertise will help ensure we have the financial strength and operational clarity to support our teams and deliver world-class experiences for our clients.”

Travers said: “Imagination has a long-standing reputation for creating powerful brand experiences that connect with audiences in meaningful ways. I’m excited to join the team at such an important time for the business and the industry. I look forward to working closely with colleagues across the UK to support the continued growth of the agency and ensure finance plays a strategic role in enabling creativity and commercial success.”

The move adds further senior financial oversight to the UK operation at a point when agencies are being asked to balance creative ambition with tighter commercial discipline. For Imagination, the emphasis in this appointment is on building that capability inside the leadership team from day one.
