Diligent, a provider of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Persefoni, a firm specialising in carbon accounting and sustainability management software. This collaboration aims to integrate the companies’ offerings to aid businesses in navigating sustainability reporting more effectively.

As part of the agreement, Diligent will migrate its carbon accounting clients to Persefoni’s platform and will also acquire an equity stake in Persefoni. Diligent asserts that this partnership will allow its clients to access superior carbon footprint management features, including advanced Scope 3 supply chain sustainability solutions and AI-driven disclosure readiness.

Amanda Carty, General Manager of Compliance at Diligent, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, citing Persefoni’s technology and commitment to sustainability as key factors. She highlighted the potential for growth and expanded opportunities for Diligent’s carbon accounting clients, emphasising the company’s dedication to the ESG market.

Persefoni, established in 2020, provides software and AI-driven tools designed to help companies and financial institutions manage their carbon footprint and sustainability reporting. Its capabilities include streamlined carbon footprint calculation, decarbonisation strategy development, and audit-ready disclosures aligned with global standards such as SB 253, CSRD, ISSB, and CDP.

Kentaro Kawamori, CEO and Co-Founder of Persefoni, described the agreement as the beginning of a partnership that will integrate the companies’ products. He noted that shared customers will benefit from the combined strengths of both platforms.

Kawamori further commented on the collaboration, acknowledging Diligent’s leadership in governance, risk, and compliance. He expressed pride in Persefoni’s selection as a partner, viewing it as a validation of their technology and vision, and expressed optimism about shaping the future of sustainability together with Diligent.
