Scality brings Greg DiFraia back

Scality has rehired Greg DiFraia to lead AI alliances. The former Inlayer chief executive returns as senior vice president of AI alliances and partnerships, with responsibility for ecosystem strategy, partnerships, and go-to-market activity for enterprise AI workloads.

Scality has appointed former Inlayer chief executive Greg DiFraia as senior vice president of AI alliances and partnerships. He returns to the storage software company after previously spending five years there as general manager and field chief technology officer.

Scality said DiFraia will lead its global AI ecosystem strategy, with responsibility for partnerships and go-to-market initiatives designed to support enterprise AI adoption. His remit includes working with technology providers, system integrators, and cloud platforms on solutions for AI workloads.

DiFraia brings more than two decades of experience across data storage, strategic sales, alliances, and international markets. Before leading Inlayer, he held senior roles at Turbonomic and Dell EMC, including overseeing global sales for the ECS software-defined storage platform. He also worked on the launch teams for Atmos and ECS, two early object storage platforms.

In a statement, DiFraia said: “AI is fundamentally changing how organisations think about data infrastructure, and partnerships are critical to delivering real outcomes for customers. Scality is uniquely positioned with its cyber-resilient storage platform, and I’m excited to build an ecosystem that helps customers scale AI initiatives with confidence.”

Scality said the appointment builds on its AI ecosystem certification programme, which now includes validations across more than 20 AI and machine learning tools and frameworks. Readers can find more information on Scality’s website.
