IRIS names Jason Dies as new CEO

Jason Dies has been appointed CEO of IRIS Software Group. The former Pitney Bowes leader succeeds Gus Malezis, who remains Chairman. Dies brings over 30 years of experience in global transformation and operational excellence.

IRIS Software Group has announced the appointment of Jason Dies as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 14 July 2025. The move marks a leadership transition from Gus Malezis, who served as interim CEO and will now continue in his role as Chairman of the Board.

Dies joins IRIS with over three decades of senior executive experience, having most recently served as Interim CEO at Pitney Bowes — a $3 billion global technology and logistics firm. In his time there, Dies oversaw large-scale transformation, streamlined operations, and reinforced a client-first culture across a workforce of 11,000.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jason as our new CEO,” said Gus Malezis, Chairman of IRIS. “He has a proven track record of driving customer-centric performance at scale, achieving ambitious financial and operational goals, and transforming organisations through innovation. What truly sets him apart is his unwavering focus on customers and empowering teams to deliver exceptional outcomes with clear and differentiated value.”

The IRIS Board conducted an international search to identify a successor capable of leading its next stage of growth. Dies brings extensive cross-functional leadership experience, having overseen operations, product development, marketing, sales, and client success during nearly a decade at Pitney Bowes.

“I’m honoured to join IRIS at such an exciting and important time,” said Jason Dies. “The team has already done exceptional work building a strong reputation as a trusted partner in delivering mission-critical software across HR, accounting, and education. I’m looking forward to accelerating innovation and continuing to deliver meaningful value for our customers.”

Dies’ earlier career included 20 years at IBM, where he held senior roles across services, hardware, marketing, and partner management. He has led global teams across North America, Europe, and Asia, and is based in Connecticut, USA. In his new role, he will travel extensively to the UK.

IRIS is a leading provider of software solutions for accountancy, education, HR, and payroll, serving customers across the UK and international markets.
