Birmingham business finance provider Lovey has opened a 23,146 sq ft headquarters at Three Snowhill as it prepares to increase its workforce from approximately 120 to as many as 300 over five years. The company intends to make the new office the centre of its next phase of recruitment and business development.
The move follows a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 20 October attended by Birmingham City Council leader Roger Harmer. Although the office has been opened formally, the full team is scheduled to move into the premises on 9 November. The company is therefore establishing the new headquarters in stages rather than claiming the entire workforce has already relocated.
Founder and chief executive Jack Smith established the business in Birmingham in 2016. Lovey, previously known as Love Finance, provides finance products and brokerage services to small and medium-sized enterprises. Its own account of its development says it has supported more than 11,000 businesses and arranged over £600m of funding since launch.
The new accommodation is in the Three Snowhill office development within Birmingham’s business district. It provides 13 meeting rooms, a podcast recording space, a mindfulness room, and shared areas overlooking the Jewellery Quarter. These facilities increase the available capacity for customer-facing teams and internal operations as the headcount grows.
Lovey’s recruitment projection represents a potential addition of up to 180 roles over five years, calculated against the current 120-person workforce. The company has not specified that all those jobs will be created immediately or supplied a year-by-year recruitment schedule. The company has not published a year-by-year hiring timetable for the proposed roles.
Smith linked the headquarters investment to remaining based in Birmingham while developing the company’s lending operations. He has also referred to recognition in Financial Times and Statista growth rankings. That recognition concerns past business performance; the future recruitment programme will depend on the company’s subsequent expansion.
Lovey offers access to finance products that can serve different business requirements, including working capital, VAT liabilities, and shorter-term funding. According to its website, its services include products sourced from lending partners, with eligibility and final terms determined through the relevant application processes. The size of the new office reflects an expansion of that operating model rather than the construction of a new lending facility.
The relocation also strengthens the presence of a growing financial services employer in central Birmingham. Harmer welcomed the decision to retain the company’s headquarters in the city. The office sits near major commercial premises and transport connections, providing a larger base for recruitment and client operations.
Property adviser Carter Jonas was involved in Lovey’s accommodation strategy. The company’s next practical milestone is the scheduled transfer of its staff to Three Snowhill, followed by the longer-term effort to reach its 300-person workforce target.
