Spectralink has launched the S1000 IP-DECT platform — a new cloud-ready communications system designed to deliver secure, scalable voice connectivity for frontline teams in mission-critical environments.

The Louisville-based enterprise mobility specialist says the solution enables operational teams in sectors such as healthcare, retail, logistics, and manufacturing to maintain consistent voice coverage across distributed or multi-site locations without relying solely on Wi-Fi networks.

Built for simplicity, the S1000 combines controller, base station, and media resource in a single device, eliminating the need for on-site DECT servers or specialist installation. According to the company, sites can be fully equipped “within hours rather than days.”

“The S1000 platform was built to solve real-world communication challenges for frontline teams,” said Charlotte McGuire, Chief Product Officer at Spectralink. “It simplifies deployment, scales across regions, and delivers voice performance that keeps pace with fast-moving operations.”

The platform supports up to 4,000 users and 1,000 base stations under one global SKU. It operates on a dedicated spectrum to ensure consistent voice quality without interference from other wireless systems, and can be managed remotely through Spectralink’s Advanced Mobile Intelligence Enterprises (AMIE) cloud service.

Spectralink cites a widening structural gap in enterprise communication investment, noting that 80% of the global workforce is made up of frontline employees — yet most technology spend still targets desk-based knowledge workers. Despite widespread use of platforms like Microsoft Teams, organisations continue to struggle with extending these tools into operational environments.

For industries where safety and compliance depend on reliable communication, Spectralink says the S1000 provides an essential bridge. The platform supports programmable alerts and integrates with existing enterprise tools to enhance response and coordination.

The S1000 is now available in EMEA through authorised distributors and resellers, with North American and APAC rollout scheduled this month. Early adopters have praised its flexibility and deployment speed, with many using the same unit as both server and base station.
