Lovell Renew Central has appointed Andy Webster as head of commercial, strengthening its senior leadership team as the refurbishment and retrofit housing specialist expands across the Midlands.
Webster brings more than 15 years’ experience across facilities management and social housing, with previous roles involving local councils, combined authorities, and framework partners. His work has focused on net zero and social housing improvement programmes intended to make homes better, safer, warmer, and healthier.
In the new role, he will lead the commercial side of the business, support regional growth, and build on existing client relationships as Lovell Renew Central looks to expand its pipeline of refurbishment, maintenance, and retrofit projects.
Webster said: “Lovell Renew stood out to me because it offers the opportunity to be part of a business that is ambitious and growing, while still having the backing and stability of a national builder. It feels like a fresh start within an established brand, with a real focus on delivery and making a meaningful impact in people’s homes and communities.
“As head of commercial, I’m looking forward to leading and developing the commercial team, supporting collaboration across the business and helping create opportunities for the next generation coming into the industry. There’s a real ambition within the team and a shared ethos of doing the right thing, being easy to talk to and showing that we care, which really aligns with my own values.”
The appointment follows a year of wider growth for Lovell Renew Central, which has recorded a 27% increase in staff over the past 12 months across all disciplines. More than a dozen team members now work across both Lovell Renew and Lovell Partnerships, giving the business additional operational and delivery capacity.
Internal progression has also formed part of that expansion. Five members of staff have been promoted over the past year, including Scott Turley, who has become operations director after 11 years with Lovell.
Turley said: “Having worked with Lovell for over a decade, I have been lucky enough to collaborate with some fantastic people who have supported and helped me develop as a person both personally and professionally.
“For someone who left school many years ago with no qualifications, to reach the position I have is something I am immensely proud of. I am also proud to represent Lovell Renew and I’m looking forward to the exciting times we have ahead.”
Carl Yale, regional managing director for Lovell Renew Central, said: “Since becoming a standalone business in January, we have continued to expand our presence across the Midlands, and our team is a huge part of that. Growing at such a pace is incredibly rewarding, and our continued investment in people is helping us go from strength to strength, ensuring we have the right talent to deliver projects the Lovell way.”
Housing refurbishment and retrofit work is becoming more demanding as local authorities and housing providers balance resident needs, regulatory expectations, energy efficiency targets, and constrained public budgets. Delivery partners are increasingly expected to combine commercial discipline with technical consistency, resident communication, and programme management.
Within that market, Lovell Renew Central’s recruitment and promotion activity points to a business building capacity around both leadership and execution. Commercial oversight is particularly important in retrofit and refurbishment programmes, where variations in housing stock, supply chain availability, and resident access can affect cost, scheduling, and delivery performance.
The business has also received industry recognition during 2026, including being named Contractor of the Year at the People in Housing Awards. It has also been shortlisted at the Women in Housing Awards, Retrofit Academy Awards, and Unlock Net Zero Awards.
