Lenovo launches TruScale DaaS for Sustainability to reduce emissions. The solution aims to lower IT device costs and carbon footprints, offering lifecycle options such as refurbishment and emissions offsetting, thus aiding organisations in their sustainability goals….

Lenovo has unveiled TruScale Device as a Service (DaaS) for Sustainability, a new initiative designed to help organisations cut their carbon footprint and reduce the cost associated with IT devices. This solution is part of Lenovo’s TruScale device management platform and offers a comprehensive approach across multiple stages of the device lifecycle, including Advise, Implement, Support, Manage, and Retire & Refresh, with the goal of decreasing emissions, recovering value, and minimising e-waste.

John Stamer, Vice President and General Manager of Global Product Services at Lenovo, highlighted the evolving focus of enterprises on IT management, not just in terms of performance but also purpose. He stated, “TruScale DaaS for Sustainability reflects our vision for the future of IT: circular by default, intelligent by design, and accountable by outcome.”

The solution’s key features include a Carbon Impact Portal, which delivers real-time device-level insights to aid ESG reporting. It also offers Certified Refurbished Devices to reduce refresh costs and carbon footprints, CO2 Offset Services for lifecycle emissions compensation, and Asset Recovery Services for secure decommissioning and value recovery.

Lenovo asserts that the service can significantly reduce device emissions by providing options to prolong device life, refurbish hardware, and offset emissions throughout the lifecycle. Rakshit Ghura, Vice President and General Manager of Digital Workplace Solutions at Lenovo, remarked that CIOs are now required to deliver both business performance and sustainability progress. He noted, “Lenovo TruScale DaaS for Sustainability meets this demand with data-driven, circular IT that helps simplify decision-making and unlock ROI from day one.”
