Amazon store highlights sellers’ EcoVadis ratings

EcoVadis and Amazon launch sustainability feature on B2B marketplace. The new feature enables sellers on Amazon Business in the EU to display EcoVadis sustainability medals, addressing demand for supply chain transparency and aiding sustainable procurement amid regulatory pressures.

EcoVadis, a provider of business sustainability ratings, has partnered with Amazon to introduce a new feature on the Amazon Business B2B marketplace. This feature allows sellers to display their EcoVadis medals or badges on their profiles, serving as a key search criterion for buyers.

This initiative responds to increasing buyer demand for supply chain transparency and aims to simplify sustainable procurement processes. Companies are facing growing pressure from regulators and stakeholders due to enhanced supply chain due diligence requirements and mandatory environmental reporting.

Jennifer Carroll, Senior Certifications Manager at Amazon Business, stated, “The integration of EcoVadis recognition on Amazon Business product pages is a direct response to our customers’ growing focus on sustainable purchasing. Amazon Business Sellers in the EU can now showcase their verified sustainability credentials through EcoVadis medals and badges, making it easier for business customers to make informed procurement decisions.”

EcoVadis provides sustainability ratings for over 150,000 companies, enabling businesses to monitor and improve the sustainability performance of their value chains. The company assesses a score reflecting the quality of a company’s sustainability management system across themes such as Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Medals and badges are awarded to companies that have completed the EcoVadis sustainability ratings assessment and have demonstrated a strong sustainability management system relative to other assessed companies.

With the new feature, sellers who have achieved Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Medals, or a Committed Badge through EcoVadis, can display their achievements on Amazon Business. Buyers can filter results and prioritise sellers with independently verified sustainability profiles. The feature is currently available in EU Amazon Business stores, including the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Germany.

Pierre-François Thaler, co-CEO and co-founder of EcoVadis, commented, “The market is demanding radical transparency. Buyers want to align their procurement strategies with their corporate values, and EcoVadis is the global standard for making that alignment possible.”
